Callistemon viminalis
A small hardy tree with a weeping habit that grows to five metres with light green leaves that are pinky purple when young. Rich red brush-like flowers appear profusely in spring and summer. Useful as a small shade tree, tall hedge or windbreak, it tolerates wind and periodic water-logging. The flowers of this tree are attactive to both birds and insects and responds well to light pruning after flowering to keep a compact shape.
