Carex inversa

A small sedge with stems between 5 and 20 centimetres tall and leaves to 50 centimetres long. The flowerheads are narrow and erect with the outer flower parts yellow brown to red brown. This sedge is found scattered on sand dunes along the coast and is a useful sand binding plant.
