Hakea laurina
A small tree or large shrub with long bluish leathery wavy or curly leaves and red ball-like flowers with white pin-like stamens. This is a hardy, drought tolerant plant that attracts birds and makes a nice cut flower. Whilst this shrub can be grown in part shade, it will produce more flowers and have a denser habit in a sunny spot. This is a shallow rooted plant and therefore can be affected in windy weather.
