A small iris-like strap-leaf ornamental plant with blue to purple three petalled flowers from September to January that grows to 0.5 metres tall. This is an attractive plant for rockeries, water features and bog gardens that provides good frog habitat. It will grow in full sun to semi-shade in wet winter and dry summer situations and tolerates dry conditions as well. The flowers of this plant open in the morning and close again by the early afternoon.
